The next day, we started out by taking the train to the Olympic Stadium built for the 1936 Olympic games. It is a very commanding structure. Now it's a soccer stadium. It's built deep into the ground. It's a very cool structure. There is a very large Turkish population in Berlin. This means that there are a lot of Turkish food places. This is where Roecker and I found out about kebabs. They are incredible. I really hope that they are in America. After the stadium, we rode the subway to the downtown area and got off. It was a beautiful part of town with a large park where the Berlin Wall used to run. We stayed there for a while and then walked to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. It was an incredible, city block size memorial. It looked almost like a maze. Afterwards, we returned to the hostel to get some sleep before our train to Warsaw.
