On Thursday, we returned to the Polish Army museum to see the inside. It was a great exhibit. It had Polish military pieces dating back hundreds and hundreds of years. We were also able to go inside two of the aircraft on the premises including an Antonov An-26. Afterwards, we walked to the new Warsaw Rising museum. It was dedicated to the uprising in the fall of 1944 where the people of Warsaw rose up and threw off their German oppressors, for only a matter of months. When the Germans retook the city, they murdered nearly 220,000 people and razed the entire city to the ground. It was an incredible museum that included hundreds of weapons used by the Polish insurgents and a full size American B-24 Liberator. It even had a mock "sewer system" that you could crawl through to get a feel for the life of the insurgents. Hands down, it is probably the best museum I've been to. Afterwards, we returned to the hostel and went out to dinner. We went to bed early because we had to get up early to catch the train to Krakow.
